Growing instructions
Preparing the sugar water mixture :
Use bottled mineral water to minimize the presence of chlorine.
Add an apple or lemon syrup without preservatives (10 % of the water volume).
Shake the mycelium tube well, then mix it at a rate of 10 ml per liter of sweetened water.
Development of mycelium :
Leave the mixture protected from light, at a stable temperature of at least 20°C.
After 4 to 5 days, the liquid becomes cloudy, a sign of the development of mycelium filaments.
Soil inoculation :
Dig holes or furrows about 20 cm deep around the target trees, about 1 meter from the trunk.
Fill these holes with a mixture of forest compost (decomposed leaves, wood, straw) or of enriched potting soil.
Distribute the liquid mycelium over this substrate, then add a thin layer of dead leaves to maintain moisture.
Environmental conditions :
Humidity : Maintain constant humidity by watering lightly during dry periods.
Temperature : Maintain a moderate climate between 10°C and 25°C.
Exposure : Place the inoculated areas in the shade or semi-shade with indirect access to light.
Seasonality and harvest
Inoculation : Spring or early autumn, when conditions are mild and humid.
Expected fruiting : The first ceps can appear after 2 to 3 years, usually after heavy rains, from spring to autumn.. Once installed, the culture can last for several years.
